I'm 1/3 of the way through my attempt at a Sunday century. Made the out and back from Hutchinson to Yoder (basically North to South) with a constant 15+ mph south headwind I had to fight going out. The trip back was much, much nicer.
I finally got up close and personal with a big yellow lab mix that lives at a farmhouse near the Arkansas river. The first few times he ran out and "greeted" me it scared the heck out of me. But now, after knowing his pattern and figuring out that he's just having fun, I slowed down and let him come up to me and give my leg a sniff today. For a minute I wasn't sure if he'd lick me or chomp on my leg. Luckily, he just gave me a sniff and went on his way.
I've downed a pint of OJ, relaxed in my recliner with my shoes and socks off for 20 minutes, so I'm ready to do the trip one more time.
I wish the wind would die down, but that ain't gonna happen.
