The bridges appear to be well-kept, unlike many covered spans in PA. Is it common for Oregon covered bridges to have a paved roadbed? Most of the bridges I've been on here have a wooden roadbed with steel reinforcement. This means riders on skinny tires have to be very careful crossing them to avoid getting a wheel stuck in a crack. Also crossing them in a rainstorm; wet wood can be very slippery.
