Generally speaking any 700c wheeled bike that doesn't have drop bars is a hybrid, maybe with the exception to a hipster's fixie with risers. Unless, of course, it was originally hybrid frame.

Typically a 26" wheeled non cruiser, non mtb is considered a comfort bike.

That's not to say that there aren't hybrids that have features of comfort bikes too.

Sure wish there was somewhere that we could discuss the benefits of hybrids.
