Neighbors tried raising a baby raccoon as a pet. It dealt with being around humans just fine, but didn't like being handled. What it did do really well was get into everything, steal things or just make huge messes. Nothing was safe. You couldn't prepare a meal without it jumping up on the counter and diving into whatever it felt like eating. Didn't take no for an answer, and didn't respond to shouts. The only thing that worked was a broom, and barely at that. Wild animals belong in the wild.
