Good recommendations so far. I have been keeping my eye on ebay and at the Lemonds in particular.

The idea is a lightweight steel bike - the reason for steel is mostly aesthetic as I have nothing against aluminum, but would rather have small diameter tubes. The Surly Pacer seems nice and within my price range, but it's not a lightweight steel and would probably tip my scale a bit. I'll have to look more into that.

I'd like to run a carbon fork and keep the whole thing at or under 20lbs.
