I was noticing last night on our ride that we were all hammering so freeking hard that even the mouthy ones were silent. It was blissful.
In general the safety monitors or the individuals who believe that by somehow riding in a group that they are no longer responsible for their own safety/decision making can get old.
I hate it when you tell a guy before the ride that you don't want to hammer today and they say, "yeah, me neither. Let's ride together OTB if they hammer it" only to see him later leading an attack. I understand it - you always feel better when you're out there, but it's like half-wheeling before the ride even starts.
