Then a few months ago he upgrades to his very nice $3K Trek. He likes it more.

He rides almost daily. He has lost 40+ lbs. He feels much better. His diabetes is under control (blood levels are normal). He's on oral medication only that he hopes to be off some day soon. That's amazing. Maybe the National Healthcare Plan should include buying everybody $3K road bikes. Sounds like it would pay for itself.

Ed knew my name from BF (he's new here) and so he says 'I guess I'm a Fred', and we both laugh. We both agreed that either of us could give a **** about what anybody labels us. He doesn't care. He's in it for the endorphins, the health and maybe the Zen. Ed friggin gets it.
So it's not about Road Nazi vs. Fred, or how much you race, or how fast you go, or your bike, or any of that. It's about the ride. Whether that's 12 mph or 29 mph is irrelevant. That being said, I wouldn't want to be in a sport where there was no ball-busting. Wait. Is there a sport there isn't any ball busting?

That's the Pcad Cycling Zen right there you idiots. Make a note of it.
Never thought I'd see these words come bouncing off Pcad's keyboard.

Even so, nice story, ya big lug.
