Wow...roadie props on my MTB?

So I was riding my Wal Mart Mongoose MTB on the local MUT (~30 mile ride) today, and I decided to go off the pavement and go over a dirt hill on the side. Nothing technical, and there is a well-worn trail over it from others doing the same thing, but it's something to break the monotony of the smooth pavement. I was practicing riding the whole day in a roadie-like manner because I'm getting a real road bike (hopefully) at the end of the month. So, no curb jumping, being careful of potholes, riding only on the road instead of on/off sidewalks, etc. So I just felt like doing _something_ because the ride was taking a bit of a serious tone lol.

Well, when I got back onto the trail, there was a small group of roadies coming the other way, and the person in the lead looked at me, smiled, and said "Nice!". Now, it _could_ have been sarcastic because he saw me doing something fred-like, or maybe noticed I was on a Wal Mart Mongoose with zip-ties holding my flashlight and water bottle cage on, or something else, but I'd like to take the props at face value. So, whoever you were, thanks for the props!

Since the hill was nothing special, I can only imagine he, like me, was getting bored with the smooth flat trail, and wished maybe for a second his road bike could do the same.
