A trip I really like to do is cycling the 2,490 miles along the Continental Divide from Canada down to the Mexican border. But I'm in another parts of the woods so in the meantime I do local rides. The participants in the Tour Divide Race are out riding for nearly a month and often bring some very interesting gear and serve as good inspiration:
