Good idea.

I've used wax before when I used to be forced to leave my bike out. Hot wax into the allen bolt and it acts as a small deterrent for those trying to get a quick steal on your seat post.

As for wheels... I rather just take the wheel off and lock everything in the rear or take the wheel with me.
