The issue is the crank arm to axle interface, not the threads. In moving away from the simple square taper standard, manufacturers have caused themselves some headaches in regards to getting a perfect fit between the arm and axle. Shimano seems to have figured it out while FSA has resorted to the band-aid of Loctite.
