There's a guy at work with an electric assist. Keen setup actually; he bought some cheap-o 60 pound e-bike at some big-box store for only $299. He pulled the assist kit and rear wheel off it and dropped it onto his Schwinn Moab and lightened up the entire rig by 17 pounds.

I've also met someone with an Electra w/ an XtraCycle kit and a stoker-side chain driven hill-assist. We've got some wicked hills around here, and she said she routinely hauls 100 pounds of groceries with the bike, so I could see needing the assist kit.
