G. Joannou imported and distributed bicycles and parts in the North-East USA. They applied their name to Japanese imports during the 1970s boom. In addition to deltafoxco's bicycle, there was an entry level Joannou Racer that sold for $99, circa 1973, in addition to numerous children's bicycles.

Some of the Joannou models may have been made by Maruishi but I can't confirm that. Old ads from the late 1970s though the mid-1980s indicate that Maruishi was imported my a US division and not Joannou.
