Perhaps my Park crown race installation tool is out of control limits, or maybe my LHT fork is wider than most thus resulting in an over tight fit, or perhaps Cane Creek S2 uses thinner and softer metal than others. Nashbar had a clearance on the Cane Creek S2 for $6, so I bought three. Glad I did since the first two races were bent in the installation attempt. Got the third installed.
I'd bet on the fork being too wide. The crown race that came with my Cane Creek S-3 definitely wasn't as beefy as some of the other headsets I've used, but I managed to get it installed on the Nashbar cyclocross fork without a problem.
