What did you find to be the hardest? The surging out of every corner? The pace was higher than you've ever ridden? Being close to other people scares you? Whatever it was, work on that the hardest. If the surging killed you, do intervals (short all out sprints with longer recoveries). If the pace was you're problem try some tempo or SST work (HRM or Powermeter would be helpful). If you were scared by the proximity of other riders, group rides, group rides, group rides (preferably faster ones).
The pace was what really got me. The peloton just escaped me super fast. I'm used to like 30 mile rides so going faster for shorter distance was pretty tough and exhausting.
