submerge anything that is supposed to be chrome/polished but rusted in white vinegar with baking soda for 24 hours.
It works!
I have to post pics of a REALLY rusty Simplex skewer I recovered by the method mentioned above. Took it out and just had to wipe it down and its bling-blingin'
