Carradice is very much alive, however getting their bags in the US is a crapshoot, seems they have not ramped up production to meet demand. Most US outlets have problems getting bags in a timely manner. I have actually ordered direct from the Carradice website in the past when I absolutely positively had to have something. Pricing isn't too bad, and was better when the dollar was down a while back.
