1967 Schwinn Racer - rear axle nut size

Hi, a newbie here,

I have a 1967 Schwinn Racer. 26" rim. Sturmney-Archer, 3 -speed hub. I'm the original owner.

I am in need of a rear axle nut. I went down to the bike junkyard
and pulled a bunch of nuts from newer bikes, but they were all
too small in diameter.

Does anyone know if this nut size and thread is still being manufactured? If so, where is a good source?

Also, if anyone actually knows the nut size (its internal diameter AND its thread pitch), please share the info.

Thanks,

Phil

BTW: That Schwinn is one tough bike! The stripped nut was the first thing to go bad on the bike since my dad bought it for me back in 1967. It has been heavily ridden.
