you should slide the saddle back and slightly down to alleviate pressure on your hands.

Well, hybrids/mountainbikes usually have much better suspension than road bikes, so I guess the answer is yes. But if the pressure is that bad for you, I'd guess you should recheck your position on the bike and/or get some padded gloves.
it has nothing to do with suspension, it's all about how you are fit on the bike. MTB and hybrids tend to give a more upright position so there's less weight on your hands.
the redline is more inline with a CX/road bike, which puts you in a more aero position.
To put less weight on your hands in either position, you have to sit further back on the saddle.
