I am 5'11" and the 54cm Allez seemed to fit me a little better than the 56 Allez. My bud keeps telling me I should be riding a 56 but that 56 I rode this weekend I just didn't like all that much. I felt a little stretched out. I have a 31" inseam with no shoes on.
Oh I see then that's about what I paid for mine. I can't fit a caad9 because it stretches me out too much and I have a really tough time reaching the pedals and the hoods for the brakes. I tried a 50cm and it didn't work. I'm 5'6 and have a 30" inseam. They didn't have a 48cm for me to try and wouldn't for possibly a few months and I really needed a new bike and didn't want to wait for something they might not order because it's not a common size. I went to another LBS and stood over a 52cm allez and the guy said he thought I'd be better off on a 49cm so I took that for a test ride and it felt great so I went with that.
