Personally, I hate solicitations outside of grocery stores. Particularly when teenagers are just standing around asking for money. If they offered to carry bags of groceries to people's cars or provide some sort of service in exchange for donations, I would support it.
I think you're confusing 'people soliciting for a charity organization' with 'useless spanger kids who need to get off their arse and find a job.'
