I fitted a small shim in the lhs lever (front derailleur) and it now works. First impressions with the whole system running as it should were good. I broke a record on my usual ride, I think it's because I was more aware of my cadence which was too low. They are really difficult to get the hang of though, there should be an easier manual for actual on-the-road use as opposed to setup.
