A couple months ago, I sold a Fuji Touring bike on CL that had over 50K miles on it (fully disclosed). My bike was well maintained and included a couple new parts -- wheels and crank were only a couple years old, right shifter was only 6 months old, seat was relatively new. But we are talking a seriously used Fuji that had seen a lot of slop action. Mechanical condition was good, but paint was well worn.

I got 9 calls in the first day when I listed the price at $275 -- many of them from Portland which is more than 60 miles from me. The first guy that looked at the bike (he drove down as soon as he could) paid full asking price. The other callers acted pissed when I indicated I'd sold it and indicated they would have paid what I asked.

I did take a look at some of the other listings. What a joke.
