If the lane isn't wide enough for a car to safely pass you without crossing into the next lane then they shouldn't be sharing the lane with you. Make sure to ride far enough to the left so they don't try to squeeze by within your lane. If there are two lanes in the same direction they should have no problem with changing lanes to pass.
