Two different animals. If I could only have one I'd keep the Miyata. I imagine if I stripped down the Miyata and put skinny tires/wheels on her the ride would be similar to the Trek. That being said the Miyata will do anything the Trek will, but you couldn't load the Trek up with 50 lbs of gear and tour nearly as easy or comfortably. In my opinion the Miyata 1000 rates in the "best in class" catagory for touring and the Trek is a definite contender in the "Sport" class. I LOVE vintage Treks but .................
I'd never sell the Miyata.
