I think it was Pete who dropped me on the second stage of the Death Valley-Whitney Portal stage race back in '91. I try not to be a jerk about such things but at the time I was thinking "oh no, I'm getting crushed by a guy who only has one and a half legs!"
From my motorcycle trials days I know an engineer in the prosthesis business. He's got a number of parts missing but manages to do very well in trials. He has told funny stories about his leg coming loose in crashes and alarming the event scorers and spectators. If you want I can hook you up. (observed trials is where you ride over obstacles while trying not to put a foot down)
This may be a dumb question, but is there a way to replumb the circulatory system so you get better blood flow?
