If your rear QR-skewer was bent inside the hub, then your rear axle may be bent as well. As you are new to this, I'd take it to a shop - or a knowledgeable fellow cyclist and have this looked at. A bent axle shouldn't be ridden on.

As for a replacement QR-skewer, save your money by forgetting about titanium. Titanium is used mostly by racers who need to shave off every gram of weight they can to give them an advantage. What's more, titanium is more likely to break. It's not the right material to use on a mountain-bike or hybrid. Find a good steal one - and measure the length of the old one. I'll guess your rear hub is 135mm.
