I've logged about 5,000 miles on my D2 shoes and never noticed any change to the fit. They certainly haven't loosened up or become longer. Mine do have less toe room than the stock 42.5 3E shoes that I was sent to try out. Others have commented that D2 must intend to give a sock-like fit.
The sole of these shoes does curve up in the forefoot area. Apparently that's the way D2 believes that soles should be shaped. Other brands have far less of this curvature.
