I hope it was good for your ego bullying a bicyclist today that had the audacity to be on "your" road.
Will the driver of the truck with the license tag "3 JDH" who laid on the horn to intimidate me at 4:40 still think its funny when he is convicted of a misdemeanor?
I hear that conviction is on par with reckless driving and jumps the insurance up almost as much as a DUI. I know where I work, since I do drive for them, if I got convicted of that even in my personal vehicle If I didn't loose my job I would be lucky. Course I bet you are one of the owners of the company from that Tag number. There was a motor cycle cop not a 1/4 mile back from you when you pulled that today. Be glad I didn't see him till I was going down the hill. If I had seen the cop while we were stopped I would have flagged him down.
Yes I was dialing the cops at the light at bellsferry when you were eyeing me in the review then I decided not to. I guess you probably thought that the way you gave me plenty of room on the second pass. Besides you are driving a billboard I knew I could track you down so I never hit send. I did take a picture of your truck and tag though.
Normaly I wait my turn in line and stop behind the last car in line just like I was in a car. The less cars I pass in that bike lane the less that will be trying to pass me the next cycle of the light. I don't like that bike lane and have asked the DOT to remove it till they install a bike lane the rest of the lenght of the road (it is coming). It makes it dangerious for me to have to merge with traffic IN the intersection. I never use that lane as a result. It was usefull today to get your tag number though.

Many cyclist ride with a video camera running for drivers like you. They are quite inexpensive these days.

Not sure why you have this attitude towards somebody that instead of firing up my pig 454 powered Suburban land tug this morning I decided to get a little exercise on my way in and home from my job and rode the bike to enjoy the great weather we had today. My Truck being in the driveway means one less on the road holding you up since you seem to be in such a hurry. It keeps my blood sugar in check and makes my Cardiologist happy to see my Cholesterol down. Besides with traffic on Chastain as bad as it is it only takes me 5 extra minutes with a bike.
Do you have a family? I do, my wife and two kids would like me home each night.
You see I am not some snot nose kid flipping burgers at the Wendy's or going to KSU, I'm in my 40's and have 17 years in on my job and have a kid that is a Senior in Highschool and one in grade school. I ride because I like it despite drivers that act like you did today. I ride to stay healthy so I can be around to see my kids grow up.
You came a LOT closer to me then you think. When I gave you your IQ I could have slapped that passenger side mirror off the truck. Your passenger mirror was less then a foot off my shoulder when you passed me. Next year the Law will be minimum 3 feet and if I can touch your truck like I could today it would have been an agressive driving ticket once I showed the video and after todays run in with you I will have a camera very soon.
There was plenty of room for you to have just lifted off the throttle to slow just a little so you could put two wheels over the center line once you dropped back from the car to your left. There were no cars behind you or the car next to you that would have prevented you from doing so. Instead you decided to be a jerk keep in the throttle and lay on the horn.
Chastain is right on the edge (14ft lanes) of me legally being able to ride right down the center of a lane and force drivers to change lanes for MY safety. I'm not that kind of rider. I share it when it is wide enough in the straight aways so as not to hold people up.
I want us (bikes and cars) to get along. I do everything I can to minimize holding people in cars up. You just happen to drive a very wide vehicle and should have given more room. What you did was uncalled for and bordered on criminal the way you endangered my life with your aggressive driving.
