You've learned something. Don't anounce yourself as a cyclist to peds unless you want them to do something.
You may think you are being civil or kind in announcing yourself but it just causes unnecessary confusion. Just ride by them, keeping a very cl;ose eye on them in the last 2-5 feet before you pass them to be able to avoid any sudden moves on their part.
Why does everyone on the AS forum think you have to announce yourself to every other object that is in front of you before you pass them?
