The bumps aren't so bad, most seat cushions absorb the shock fairly well. It's the launching effect you get from the seat as the rear wheel rolls through the hole. Add to that the fact that I run 20" wheels all around....... You have to keep vigilant and try to miss as many as you can. Diane's right, a seat belt would be handy for the pot holes you may fail to miss.
