That's a senseless wase of energy. You don't gain much by powering downhill. Maybe second or two. You gain on the climb!

It's better to tuck, maye softpedal to maintain momentum, then apply that energy to the climb. If you watch a slyde nteh hills, he does exactl what you describe. Power downhill then fade on the way up.

If you watch a good climbing clyde, he will conserve on the sections wherewe naturally excel, then apply the conserved energy to his climb.

You gain seconds by powering downhill. You gain minutes by powering uphill!
