Bags that attach with bungee cord hooks may not always stay on. Off the bike, it carries like a briefcase, and there's a velcro-able flap to cover the rack hooks, and unlike many side and trunk bags, it can hold loose documents without folding or crumpling them. Unfortunately it only works on my summer commuter when I mount it as far back as possible on the rack. On my winter commuter I get heel strike.
