You dont have to or want to reset the odometer. Recall the last file and use the total ride distance from it. For 90% of my rides i keep it set to BASICUSE. That gives me all the pertinant data i need. I try to be carefull not to reset the file during a ride. Not hard to do if i accidentally push the STOP button twice. When you recall the FILE the total ride distance of just that ride is recorded. The trick is to go to RECORDS and reset the total ride time, max speed, max alt, Kcals, etc etc before every new ride. Its not the same as total exercise time. I could care less about total exercise time because the darn thing records the avg speed based on total ride time.
Heres the trick to resetting those things you dont seem to be able to like max cad, alt & speed.
Go to FILE - push start button
Use scroll button to cycle to RECORDS
Push start button
Scroll thru each item you wish to reset
Push the Start button.
the word RESET will flash at the top and show an arrow pointing at the scroll button.
Push both scroll buttons at the same time and hold.
The item will blink and eventually reset the value to zero.
Move on to the next item to be reset.
Dont bother reseting the odometer, its not necessary if you keep your ride files straight. I record my data in Bike Journal and delete all files i dont need.
