Well ... didn't utility cycling become a lot more popular in a few choice US cities during Armstrong's Tour de France dominance?

I think that there is some positive correlation between the two ... sport and utility cycling. But if people live in an area where it makes sense to bicycle for errands or casual diddying, they will.
