our first race of the collegiate season last year, an A rider from Va Tech goes on a solo break for most of the 70+ mile race. I was driving lead car so had to chase him through 3 other fields on the course (twice going through, once being caught by a field). Of course, he didn't make it to the finish.

the kicker? He was conference director, so his pre-race time was spent checking people in, not warming up.
