+1 on using a low flange road hub.

i have a 22 spoke radially laced front wheel with a campy road hub that has held up just fine the first 4 months i've had it(knock on wood) and i'm a big guy, 220, and i ride on poor road conditions(brick roads and other roads in this town are full of potholes) and i ride my bike fairly hard.
