Also, FWIW, a lot of loose-ball road hubs are easily converted to track axles simply by swapping out the hollow axle for a longer solid one and adding track nuts. My current front wheel is a machine-built Shimano 105/Mavic somethingorather that came set up for QR. Switching out the axle was quick, easy, and cost me about $20.
