There is no doubt that culturally S. Fl is a big mix. We have a large population from Cuba, Haiti & Jamaica and many did come from bad conditions and are working hard to improve themselves. But there are just as many well educated people from Cuba, Peru, Venezuela, Columbia etc who are culturally more sophisticated than most the US people I know.

I think a lot of non Latins are just intimidated because they don't speak Spanish and it is almost a requirement if you live down here. I think if you look at the West coast or Northern Fl the situation is quite different than down here.

As for the riding, there are more large group rides with excellent riders here than anywhere else I have been including Norcal. I know of at least 4 rides with >40+ riders that are on the road every weekend.
