I have no clue who Simonetti is so I cant comment. My advice to you is to ignore the name as it will cloud your judgement. Simply look at the bike for what it is.....an aluminum framed road bike with Dura Ace and STI levers. Is it worth $300? Yes. Should you be in your car picking it up versus waiting for a mythical BF C&V answer that will never come? Yes.

Its different than a $700 entry level bike because its under valued by $150 and a modern bike with a MSRP of $700 is only worth $500 due to first year depreciation.

IMHO any welded aluminum road bike from that era, with the exception of Klein, is nothing more than a run of the mill frame.
