I will say that there are two great places in Fl to ride ...and Flatwoods in NE Hillsborough County (7 miles of awesome pavement dedicated to only cyclists, peds, and bladers).
Other than weekend group rides where I succumb to the illusion that there is safety in numbers, on my own I ride Flatwoods exclusively...it's 4 miles from my house (bike accessible lanes the whole way there) and the ONLY place in our neck of the woods where I will ride alone.
Plus, there are more miles of single track off roading for the MTBers throughout the park...just watch out for the snakes and gators...
