Well now I think I have heard it all. Walking past the bike area at a Dicks Sporting Goods(to be fair not really a true LBS) and the guy is telling the customer that the reason his $400 bike will not shift properly is that each cog in the rear has a unique personality. It was irrelevant that the rear wheel was about as out of true as you can get a wheel. The rear shifting cable was not tight and who knows what else someone with the minimum of knowledge could have found in 2 min. The sales/repair guy was not a kid either but a true BS artist.
Anyone else have a rear cassette with a personality?
