it mainly has to do with what you are most comfortable with …and which your "chocolate foot" is. the term refers to the (dominant) foot which you have in the back while skating, surfing or riding (coasting). but i wasn't aware that some people can trackstand with one foot and skid with the other. personally i stand and skid with right back. i've been practicing with right forward only with little luck.
