Nice bike. I have noticed at our local specialized dealer that secteurs were flying out the door. There is a difference in the secteur and allez and to determine which would be better you would have to enlighten us on the riding you want to do. Allez has a more aggressive design and built more for performance than comfort. It is an entry level race bike. Secteur, like the Roubaix in which i think its modeled after, is a more relaxed design and intended more for distance/endurance. From what I have read both bikes ride great, i ride a Roubaix and love it. Also, do not take the information above wrong, the allez is not a horribly uncomfortable bike nor is a secteur a poor performing bike, just there refinements are targeted a little more differently to meet the demand of the different riding preferences. If you want to race than the allez might have been a slightly better choice, but if it is about logging miles, you did well.
As far as upgrading, ride until you think something is limiting you or you have become familiar enough with it that you know you just dont like it. If you are just starting, there is nothing on that bike that will probably limit you. Also, for more informative responses to that question you might want to let everyone know what your flight deck is. Not sure if that model comes with the Tiagra, which should do you well for awhile, or the shimano 2300 which i know nothing about. Anyway, you have a nice bike, enjoy riding and keep riding, after awhile you will know what you need and what your comfortable with on the bike.
