So I'm mounting modern brakes on an old frame and know that I need to drill out the backside of the rear brake bridge to 5/16". I've heard people recommend using an angled drill, but the one I tried didn't seem to have enough torque and kept binding up. I use a step bit with a pneumatic angle drill. Makes a nice clean hole every time.
