We started in Clinton, MO today and ended in Sedalia at the Tour of Missouri time trials. This section of the trail is away from the Missouri River and the scenery consists of lots of open fields, wildlife and small towns. The trail was in excellent condition with only a few soft spots in a couple of the shady areas. I imagine this is from the rain they received before we arrived. The only wildlife we saw were squirrels and a small turtle I almost ran over
As you can see the weather was fantastic. The temps were in the low 80's but we did pickup a little headwind in the early afternoon. This section of the trail has quite a bit of 1-2% grades and also contains the highest point on the entire trail. We should reach the Missouri River at the end of tomorrow's ride and the books say it flattens out from that point with great scenery along the river.
The 520 resting on the trail.
