Just figured out it was italian thread. When I first disassembled it, to check I tried to screw the cups into each others side to no avail. So I just thought the threads were opposite making it english. After cleaning and trying an english bottom bracket I realized that it was in fact italian threaded. I feel a little dumb but am new at this. Thanks everyone for your help.
