Have you done any power tests to quantify the gains on the fixed gear? How do those compare to gains at the same point in your training cycle on your normal training bike?
I've only ridden a single speed, but my thoughts on a fixed gear are that it's possible to improve your stroke a bit, but it's also possible to completely screw up your stroke.
Power tests showed me that it wasnt anywhere near a proper road bike for training.
and it does make your pedal stroke extremely lazy!
