At one of the classes, the instructor yells at us to reach certain heart rate zones; basically, 5 zones, from easy to hard. From the giant chart posted on the room, zone 3 for a 22 year old (moi) should be around 170BPM, but reaching that, and sustaining it for more than a minute is REALLY hard. The lactic acid build up to pretty darn severe. But the rest of the class is barely struggling! What the hell! Every class I end up sweaty, and beat up. Do I just suck that much?...
170 is 5 beats short of my threshold HR.
Have you actually tested your LT HR? Age-based heart rate zones are fairly meaningless.
