I find I have an attachment to any of my bikes that I use a lot and that fit well. The fit comes about after a bit (or a lot!) of adjustments, tweaks and the like, so it feels like getting to know someone (well something) over time. The bike I have used the most over the past 2 years has been a $45 Craigslist 80's mountain bike set up with commuter/touring features like a rack, fenders, Marathon tires etc. It is a bike I was never suppossed to keep, but it was what I had when I crashed and totaled the $45 Nashbar Craigslist road bike I had using.

The mix of parts and the set up 'feels' like me -- well that is what I think when I look at it sitting in my office on days I use it to commute.
